A welcome change has begun at Onam Elementary School in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province. The water students use every day—drinking, washing hands, and preparing delicious school meals—is now becoming clearer and more transparent through GeoGrid’s smart water quality management solution, BLOS (Building Oasis).

🏫 School Is Like a Second Home—Where Children Spend Most of Their Day

One of the biggest concerns parents have when sending their children to school is hygiene. And water flowing through hidden pipes is especially difficult to manage. To address this challenge, Onam Elementary School chose BLOS. This was more than simply adding filters—it was an upgrade of the school’s entire water infrastructure into a smart, building-wide purification system.

The photo below was taken immediately after the existing piping was separated during the BLOS installation work at Onam Elementary School, to connect the system.

When we looked inside pipes that appeared normal from the outside, we found them filled with long-accumulated rust and dark debris. The water may have looked clean to the naked eye, but in reality it was passing through these aging pipes before reaching the students.

This on-site photo, ironically, clearly proves how urgent—and how well-judged—Onam Elementary School’s decision was. With BLOS in place, these harmful factors, which could have remained undiscovered and neglected, can now be blocked completely from the point of entry.

🧪 Real Peace of Mind Backed by Numbers and Data

The BLOS system installed at Onam Elementary School now safeguards plumbing hygiene 24/7.

First, smart monitoring. Sensors continuously check water quality and analyze water usage in real time. The school can now answer the question, “Is our water safe right now?” with data and confidence.

Second, a zero-chemical approach. It’s not acceptable to use harsh chemical additives in water children use every day. BLOS helps suppress rust and scale through an eco-friendly method, keeping the building’s internal system fundamentally cleaner over time.

Third, a transformation in the cafeteria. All water used in the kitchen is now supplied in purified condition—from washing rice and boiling soup to cleaning trays and dishes—turning the entire cafeteria into one large, hygiene-first zone.

After installation, many students and staff gathered in front of the standing monitor installed in the lobby of Onam Elementary School. Together, they reviewed the screen and walked through the real-time monitoring data—seeing firsthand how the school’s water is being managed.

Students were fascinated to watch the condition of the water they drink being verified in real time through data. Faculty and staff also expressed strong confidence in a system that makes an otherwise invisible infrastructure transparent and easy to understand.
