GeoGrid, an eco-friendly smart water purification plant company led by CEO Kihyun Kim, announced on the 11th that it has installed its smart water purification system, 블로스(BLOS-Building Oasis), at Kyunghee Girls’ Middle School in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul. The installation was carried out as part of the “2024 Seoul Proof-of-Concept (PoC) Support Program” organized by the Seoul Business Agency (SBA).
Kyunghee Girls’ Middle School joined the program to improve hygiene conditions in its cafeteria. Following the installation, official water quality testing confirmed compliance with drinking water standards.
Unlike conventional water purifiers that treat water only at selected faucets, the BLOS system purifies water across the entire cafeteria piping network. Key features include blocking external contaminants, removing rust, slime, and scale inside pipes, dual disinfection based on UV and ionization, and real-time water quality monitoring using six types of water quality sensors. The system can also be installed in a single day without replacing existing pipes, making it practical for schools operating with existing facilities.
This project is being recognized as an example of water hygiene innovation in public educational facilities. It is noted for enhancing the safety of drinking and cooking water for students, while also improving operational efficiency and overall hygiene standards in the school environment. In particular, it is seen as aligned with national policy directions such as the “Green Smart School” initiative, which aims to transform aging schools into digitally enabled, eco-friendly learning spaces.
A representative from Kyunghee Girls’ Middle School said, “We needed a reliable water quality management system to improve cafeteria hygiene,” adding, “BLOS was considered well-suited for an educational setting thanks not only to its technical performance, but also to its short installation time and real-time management capabilities.”
CEO Kihyun Kim of GeoGrid stated, “It is meaningful to demonstrate BLOS in an educational environment with the support of the City of Seoul and SBA,” adding, “We plan to expand customized purification solutions to more schools going forward.”
